Your Thailand tour begins in Bangkok, a vibrant capital blending modernity and spirituality. You'll explore the famous klongs, veritable arteries of life, as well as the majestic Wat Arun, symbol of the city. Iconic markets, such as the Flower Market or the spectacular Mae Klong Railway Market, offer a unique insight into everyday Thai life. The floating market of Damnoen Saduak, traversed by pirogue, completes this colorful immersion.
History and memory of the kingdom of Siam

The journey continues to Kanchanaburi, marked by the history of the Second World War with the famous River Kwai and the Death Railway. You then discover Ayutthaya, former capital of Siam, and its majestic temples, witnesses to a rich royal past. The Crystal Temple Wat Tha Sung, with its thousands of mirrors, will amaze you with its unique architecture.
Listed sites and cultural heritage

In Sukhothai, the cradle of Thai architecture, you visit a UNESCO-listed historic park, a symbol of the kingdom's golden age. In Phitsanuloke, the statue of Phra Buddha Chinnaraj, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, illustrates the spiritual depth of the country.

Day 1

FRANCE - BANGKOK

Flight to Bangkok. Night on board.

Arrival and welcome by your guide and transfer to your hotel.

Day 3

BANGKOK - MAE KLONG - DAMNOEN SADUAK - KANCHANABURI

Early departure for Mae Klong market, the market on the railroad line.

Just before the station, a small number of stalls are located on the tracks. And when the train arrives, it blows its horn. The stalls fold up quickly, and once the train has passed, they move back into place as if no train had come to disrupt the market.

Then on to the floating market of Damnoen Saduak, in Ratchaburi province.

Take a pirogue down the canals to the market.

Disembarkation and free time for personal discovery of the market with its stalls of fruit, vegetables, fish and meat...

Stop at a coconut flower factory, then off to Kanchanaburi, "the city of gold", for a stop at the Allied Cemetery, whose headstones bear the names and military insignia of Dutch, British, French and Australian soldiers, accompanied by short epitaphs.

Train ride on the "railroad of death" along the River Kwai. Popularized in 1957 with the film "Bridge on the River Kwai", the construction of this railroad linking Thailand to Burma in 1942 and 1943 mobilized almost 180,000 civilians and 60,000 Allied prisoners of war. Nearly 100,000 of them did not survive the work.

Check-in at your hotel, then board a bamboo raft for dinner on the river.

Day 4

KANCHANABURI - AYUTTHAYA - PHITSANULOKE

Departure for Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam, and visit of the ruins with its main monuments: Wat Yai Chai Mongkol temple, with its imposing 62 m high chedi, from the top of which you'll have a breathtaking view of the surrounding area, and Wat Panan Choeng, listed under royal patronage, houses a 19 m high statue of a seated Buddha.

Uthai Thani is a city and province 200 km north of Bangkok. The small metropolis of Uthai Thani sits on the banks of the Sakae Krang, a tributary of the Chao Phraya, into which it flows just a few kilometers away.

Visit Wat Tha Sung, the crystal temple. Its glass-covered facades, columns, walls and ceiling are decorated with thousands of tiny mirrors, all reflecting the light.

Drive to Phitsanuloke, which lies on the banks of the Nan River, near the confluence of the Khwae Noi.

Day 5

PHITSANULOKE - SUKHOTHAI - CHIANG MAI REGION

Visit Phitsanuloke, the most important eastern city in the kingdom of Siam in the 13th and early 14th centuries.

You'll discover Wat Prabouddahchinnaraj, home to a 13th-century Buddha statue considered to be the most beautiful in the world.

Continuation to Sukhothai Historical Park, capital of the first kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. Sukhothai preserves admirable monuments illustrating the beginnings of Thai architecture. The great civilization that developed in the kingdom was shaped by numerous influences and ancient local traditions, but the rapid assimilation of all these elements forged what is known as the "Sukhothai style".

You'll discover the temples of Wat Phra Sri Ratana Mahatat and Wat Sra Si with its huge seated Buddha and its six rows of ruined columns.

Day 6

CHIANG MAI REGION

Depart for the ascent and visit of the beautiful Doi Suthep temple, on the hill overlooking the city, reached by 350 steps framed by giant porcelain snakes and dragons. From the forecourt, you can admire the panoramic view over the entire Chiang Mai valley.

After lunch, visit Chiang Mai and its handicraft villages. Chiang Mai is Thailand's artisan heartland, and its craftsmen are renowned the world over. Lacquerware, silk weaving, umbrella making, wood carving, jewelry and gemstones are just some of the handicrafts you'll discover this afternoon.

Day 7

CHIANG MAI REGION - BANGKOK

This morning you'll head to the local market with your chef to do the shopping for your "cooking class". Then it's off to the kitchen for your cooking class.

Taste the meal you've prepared.

Afternoon free to explore the city or continue shopping.

Late afternoon transfer to Chiang Mai train station.

Air-conditioned sleeper trains in 2nd class.

Dinner on a tray. Night on board the train.

Day 8

BANGKOK

Early arrival in Bangkok. Transfer to a nearby hotel for breakfast.

You'll then make your way to Bangkok's large flower market, open 24 hours a day and particularly lively from late afternoon onwards. This is where professionals come to stock up for restaurants, hotels... But it's also here that individuals can buy flowers for temple offerings.

Departure for the discovery of Bangkok by boat through the klongs, Bangkok's famous canals (weather permitting). This is one of the most fascinating aspects of Bangkok, as it takes us back in time to when the Thais called themselves the "Jâo Naam" or "Water Lords".

Visit Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn, named after the Indian god of dawn: Aruna.

Wat Arun is the symbol of the capital, and one of Thailand's most famous royal temples. The Prang, a Khmer-style tower 82 m high, was built in the first half of the 19th century by Rama II and Rama III. It is unique in that it is covered with Chinese ceramic tiles.

BANGKOK - FRANCE

Depending on your flight schedule, transfer to Bangkok airport and flight to France.
